Internet Speed

Minimum internet speed for each delegate is 15mbps. Delegates can use www.speedtest.net to check the speed of their internet connection. A speed of less than 15mbps will significantly hamper the ability to participate in the course and may result in the delegate being blocked from attending.

Audio / Webcam

Before the course, delegates should check their audio and webcam set-up. It is essential on an interactive and collabrative course that delegates have checked that their audio and webcam set-up is functioning well and ready to use.

We strongly recommend the use of a good quality headset, rather than earphones.

Please uncheck your ‘Automatically adjust microphone volume’ setting in Zoom’s audio settings.

It is mandatory that delegates have a webcam (either one installed in their computer or a separate one) so that the tutor and other delegates can see each other.

Computer Hardware

Delegates should use a desktop computer or a laptop. A tablet used alone, or a mobile phone, will not suffice. A good quality separate mouse is easier to use than a laptop trackpad in most cases.

Internet Browser

We advise that delegates use:

Google Chrome
Mozilla Firefox
Safari

Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer should be avoided.

Training Room / Individual Offices

We strongly recommend that delegates are in different rooms for the duration of the course.

– This helps to eliminate or reduce audio issues like feedback, and echo, with delegates’ voices being picked up on more than one microphone

– Using one internet connection can mean there is too much pressure on a single source. The speed for individual delegates may not be high enough for them to participate effectively in the course. It is essential that a group of delegates are able to use more than one internet source.

Company Firewall, Equipment Restrictions

Before the course, any company firewall restrictions on external internet sites will need to be resolved. Either these will need to be disabled or a work around will need to be implemented. Another option is that delegates will require to use personal equipment.

Contact Kelvin TOP-SET on cloudhelp@kelvintopset.com, and we can provide the Google Classroom url. If firewall settings are altered to allow this website url, delegates should be able access the online classroom and all course materials. Contact us in advance of any booking to arrange testing.
